A wide range of factors can contribute to infertility in both male and female partners. Research shows that male-related issues are responsible for approximately 30% of infertility cases, often involving problems such as low sperm count, poor sperm motility, or structural abnormalities. Similarly, female factors account for around 30% of cases, which may include ovulatory disorders, hormonal imbalances, blocked fallopian tubes, endometriosis, or other reproductive health conditions.
In about another 30% of couples, infertility is the result of a combination of both male and female factors, making diagnosis and treatment more complex. The remaining 10% of cases are classified as unexplained infertility, where standard medical testing does not reveal a clear cause despite ongoing difficulty conceiving.
