Fertility super specialist. Teacher of specialists. Voice of the profession. Founder of Kalpa Clinic.
For more than two decades, Dr. Chaitra Nayak — MBBS, MS (ObGyn), FnB (Reproductive Medicine) — has been one of Bengaluru’s most trusted names in fertility care. Few fertility clinics anywhere are led by a nationally board-certified super specialist; fewer still by a clinician who writes the textbooks, trains the trainers, and holds elected office in India’s premier fertility society. These are the events and milestones behind every consultation at Kalpa Clinic.
Dr. Chaitra was invested as Secretary of the Indian Fertility Society’s Karnataka Chapter, taking office alongside her lifelong mentor, Padma Shri Dr. Kamini Rao, and IFS National President Dr. Pankaj Talwar. The position places her at the centre of the state’s scientific programming, training standards and ethical practice in fertility medicine — a recognition by peers reserved for the field’s most respected clinicians.
At Fertivision, the Indian Fertility Society’s flagship national conference, Dr. Chaitra served as invited faculty — delivering a talk on follicular asynchrony and teaching at a hands-on workshop for practising fertility specialists. When India’s fertility community gathers to learn, Dr. Chaitra is on the teaching side of the podium.
Teacher • Author • Mentor
Author of chapters in the standard textbooks of assisted reproduction, and faculty at the programmes that certify India’s next generation of fertility specialists.
Dr. Chaitra teaches alongside Padma Shri Dr. Kamini Rao and Dr. Mir Jaffer on the IIRRH–BACC training programmes for doctors and fertility specialists. She also serves as member and subject expert on the IIRRH–BACC Healthcare Institutional Ethics Committee.
From an IFS deep-dive on AMH interpretation, to a hands-on workshop on male infertility at the IMA Hall in Bengaluru, to a panel on regenerative medicine in reproductive care in New Delhi — Dr. Chaitra’s faculty calendar spans the full breadth of modern fertility practice.
Expertise that is sought across continents — from a fertility camp in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, to scientific exchange in Tanzania with UK-based consultant embryologist Dr. Bryan J. Woodward, BSc, MMedSci, PhD, FRCPath — keeping Kalpa Clinic connected to global best practice.
In October 2022, after senior consultant roles at India’s leading fertility institutions — Milann and Cloudnine — Dr. Chaitra took the entrepreneur’s leap and founded Kalpa Clinic in J.P. Nagar, Bengaluru: a private, inclusive space where care is personal, evidence-based and free of commercial pressure. It began the way all good beginnings do in India — with an invocation to Lord Ganesha.
Alongside the clinic, Dr. Chaitra founded myivfdoctor.com — an educational platform that gives couples honest, jargon-free answers about their fertility journey, born of her conviction that misinformation leads to unnecessary treatment, expense and heartbreak.
A throwback to 2017 — Dr. Chaitra felicitated by Shri D. K. Shivakumar in the presence of Padma Shri Dr. Kamini Rao, in recognition of her contribution to fertility care.
As senior consultant, Dr. Chaitra was part of the team rated the best fertility team five consecutive years — a sustained standard of excellence, not a one-off accolade.
Dr. Chaitra’s study comparing progesterone-primed ovarian stimulation (PPOS) with the GnRH antagonist protocol in oocyte donation cycles ranked among the top-scoring abstracts of the RCOG World Congress 2021 and was published in the Journal of Human Reproduction Sciences (2022). Her earlier work on G-CSF for refractory thin endometrium was presented at the ISAR National Conference in 2014. Research is not a sideline at Kalpa Clinic — it is the standard of care.
Every event on this page answers the question every couple should ask before choosing a fertility clinic: who, exactly, will be treating us?
Every consultation is with an FnB-qualified reproductive medicine super specialist — not a rotating junior team.
About 80% of Kalpa Clinic’s patients are treated without IVF — and 75% conceive without it. Treatment is matched to need, never to a sales target.
